Firefighters released two people trapped following a serious road traffic collision in West Mersea this morning. The collision involved a single deck bus and a lorry which was carrying a steam traction engine
The steam traction engine had fallen from the lorry and onto the bus trapping and injuring a number of passengers.
One critically injured man has been flown to the Royal London Hospital, four patients have been taken to Colchester Hospital with serious but non- life-threatening injuries. Eleven patients have been taken to both Colchester and Broomfield hospitals with various minor injuries, and two patients were treated and discharged at the scene.
