The body of the tap incorporates a male 3/8" BSP thread.

If you're thread is worn and is already oversize for 1/4" BSP then our 3/8" BSP taps are the ideal solution, Identical to look at, just a larger thread. Far easier to drill and tap to 3/8" than try to fit a Helicoil or similar.
